The Krazy A to Z Challenge – “A”

I have decided to participate in a blogging event called “Blogging From A to Z Challenge”. Each day for the month of April I will write a post corresponding to a letter of the alphabet. As you may have guessed, today’s letter is “A”.

Awake

at night, dark and silent I wait
fatigue overwhelms me
my body
weary and frail
my mind
a cyclone of thoughts, ideas, fears, hallucinations
eyes shut tight, clenched like fists of rage
struggling, bargaining, praying for peace
sleep within my reach but somehow elusive
I surrender to the demons,
relinquishing my power to renew
